Fishing ReportsLocal Stream Fishing Conditions and Flow Rates
Locally pond fishing for Bass and panfish has been very good. Stream reports on the smallmouth have just been fair but the carp are starting to cooperate more giving fly anglers decent chances at tailing fish. Deer hair poppers and Dalhberg divers have been working well for bass while the carp seem to have a preference for crawfish, clousers, and dark nymphs.
PA trout fishing has been decent with some stellar days fishihng on top with cicadas. The little Juniata and streams in central PA seeing the best cicada actio. Windy days have more of the big bugs on the water and typically fish the best. Trout looking for cicadas lie very close to the banks on the side where they are most likely to be blown in the water by wind. Cicadas land with a loud slap on the water so don't worry about subtle presentations with this fly. If they aren't looking for the big bugs nymphing in the deeper riffles were it drops of to deeper water is always a good bet this time of year.
Keep checking back, as we are always looking for fishable water!!!
