Chagrin River Outfitters is Northeast Ohio’s destination for premium fly-fishing gear, expert guidance, and unforgettable days on the water. Founded by Dan Pribanic in 2006 in downtown Chagrin Falls, our shop helps anglers fish with more confidence—whether you’re just getting started, dialing in your local setup, or planning your next fly-fishing adventure.

Located in the heart of Northeast Ohio’s best steelhead water, we offer guided trips for steelhead, smallmouth, and musky, backed by guides who are on the water most of the days. From up-to-date fishing reports to trusted local insight, we give you the knowledge, gear, and support to make every trip more productive and more enjoyable.

Thanks to our location near the Chagrin River and nearby instructional space, we hold clinics, casting lessons, and fly-tying classes, especially during steelhead season—and host speakers on various fly-fishing topics.

Who We Are

Dan Pribanic - Owner

Dan Pribanic started fishing at a very young age and never really stopped. Starting with spinning rods and bait, his fishing began to evolve and eventually he took up fly fishing. He has fished all around the country, Mexico, and the Bahamas, in both fresh and saltwater and says his favorite type of fishing is whatever he happens to be doing at the time. His experiences with many different types of tackle and the variety of species and waters he has fished have helped to make him a great angler and even better guide. His 35 years of fishing and 15 years of guiding have also helped to make him a great instructor/teacher as well and is equally comfortable with newer anglers as well as the more experienced. A day with him will help make you a better caster and fisherman, learning techniques you can take with you and apply on your home waters.

Fabio Malaspina - Shop Associate

Fabio started fly fishing in Italy for Grayling and trout on the Po River near the Italian Alps. He has now lived in Northeast Ohio and chased steelhead for close to 30 years. He started indicator fishing, but now he loves to swing flies for them with a switch rod. He also likes to dry-fly fish for trout but chases many different other freshwater species. He has fished in Alaska, Canada, Michigan, Montana, New York, and Pennsylvania. In the last few years, he has also fished for bonefish, permit and tarpon in Belize and the Bahamas. He ties his own flies. Fabio has volunteered for Project Healing Waters and is now a volunteer for Patriots On The Fly. Fabio loves to help customers of all skill levels.
